Restaurant Week Columbus
Event to benefit restaurants, diners and the Mid-Ohio Food Bank
COLUMBUS, OHIO - Over three dozen of Columbus' finest restaurants will feature three-course fixed-price menus, from $15 to $35, January 18 through January 23, enabling diners to try many white-tablecloth restaurants once again.
"Restaurant Week Columbus is a great event for the city and has a way of generating a great buzz. We are really looking forward to participating again," said Ed Miller, general manager of Lindey's."It is a way to not only give back to the community through the donation to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, but also to give back to our guests - both new and lifetime - by giving them the opportunity to dine on great food at a great price."
Lindey's is one of many restaurants excited to welcome new guests; other participating restaurants include Bel Lago, Black Creek Bistro, Cameron's, Cimi's Bistro, Columbus Brewing Company, Columbus Fish Market, Hyde Park, Kogens, Level, The Lost Shepherd, M, Matt the Miller's Tavern, The Melting Pot, Mezzo Italian Kitchen & Wine, Mitchell's Steak House, Moretti's of Arlington, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Sage American Bistro, Shish Kebab Mediterranean Grill, Smith & Wollensky, Spagio, Sushi Rock, Trattoria Roma, Tucci's Wood Fired Bistro, Vittoria Ristorante, and many more to be added in the coming weeks.
July's RWC exceeded the expectations of local restaurants and community partners and with over 30 locations around Columbus already onboard, (614) Magazine is hard at work to ensure January's RWC will be an even greater success.
"Restaurant Week Columbus is a great way for residents and visitors alike to experience some of Columbus' best restaurants for less," said Cathe Moog of Experience Columbus. "Many participating restaurants will see patrons they might not have otherwise, expanding their customer base going forward. Experience Columbus is proud to highlight some of the gems that give Columbus the unique and culturally diverse dining scene for which it has become recognized."
An estimated 20,000 people dined out during July's RWC and several restaurants enjoyed record weeks. The event's popularity has enabled (614) Magazine to begin signing on sponsors for 2010's RWC since October, including: NBC4, Southern Wine and Spirits, Maker's Mark, Heineken, and CAPA, as well as community partners Columbus Young Professionals Club, Experience Columbus, and the Short North Business Association.
As with the July Restaurant Week, (614) Magazine will assemble a comprehensive marketing campaign with the help of its media partners and sponsors driving awareness of the city-wide event.
In addition, Restaurant Week Columbus will again make a $5,000 donation to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank on behalf of (614) Magazine and participating restaurants.
"Every $1 donated enables the Mid-Ohio Foodbank to distribute $8 worth of food. So, Restaurant Week Columbus has a huge impact," said Evelyn Behm of the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. "Besides the contribution that did so much to get the word out about the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, it is great to know that premier restaurants support the cause - and it is great for diners as well. We love being affiliated with the event and are thrilled it will happen again. With new restaurants on board, we look forward to the opportunity of working with them in the new year as well."
